New Beginnings
“New Beginnings”…
Isn’t that redundant?
“Beginnings.”
No, that’s not quite right, because these are beginnings I’ve traversed before.
“Old Beginnings.”
Ugh. That sounds depressing.
“Familiar Beginnings That Contain Within Them Many Possibilities for Doing Things Differently Than Last Time, or the Last Few Times”
Yeah! That’s it! But it’s not so catchy…
Maybe there are no truly “new” beginnings at age 58, I don’t know. Things are certainly seeming circular in nature. Repeating themes, repeating patterns.
Some spiritual communities believe that the same situations keep presenting themselves in your life until you learn the lesson and do something different. That seems pretty horrifically dead-on to me.
It’s about this stage that I like to stress that I’m an “idea man.”
I have had lots of ideas.
I like the idea of “manifestation.” I’m just not too sure about it.
Sometimes, I think, you just have to chop wood.
Head down, chop wood.
Take breaks—and enjoy yourself when you do.
Then chop more wood.
Maybe all the wood will be used for a fire that lights the “New Beginnings.”
Anyhoo…
I’m trying to get in shape, I got a new job, and I have a girlfriend.
Until next time
